Rangers Illustrations: Day 17

Well that's not at all what I expected. A combined 18 runs (TX7 - SF11) and 12 pitchers (TX5 - SF7) later the Giants take Game 1 in convincing fashion. Ouch! Now lets see if we can get a split outta this thing before heading back to Arlington.

Rangers Illustrations: Day 15

What a great weekend. The Rangers made it to the World Series, and will be playing the Giants (good luck Nigel/Chris). Friends Jeff and Lynn are now happily married. The two best teams from the two worst divisions? Sure didn't seem like it. What a way to start the week. Cowboys tonight. Lakers tomorrow. Rangers Wednesday. This is a first that my three favorite teams are competing at the same time. Not that what the 'Boys have been doing can really be called competing. 1-4? Really? There's always hope.

Rangers Illustrations: Day 13/14

Tommy Hunter's start turned into Derek Holland's cleanup, and C.C. just had more to give than C.J. Either way the Rangers are up 3-2 headed back to Arlington for Game 6. Maybe 7. Decided to do a Nolan redraw. Felt the fist was a little campy. I like it a little more graphic now, and with that classic Nolan stare.

Rangers Illustrations: Day 12

Cliff Lee just pitched an insane 2 hit, 1 walk 13 k, shutout in the Bronx. Andy Pettitte was really good too, but just not good enough. With the Rangers lead 2-1 could the three back-to-back (night-night-day) games be better for them than the Yanks? They're younger and bounce back faster. I guess time will tell. Either way they've guaranteed at least 1 more home game if they can't win any more in NY.

Rangers Illustrations: Day 9/10/11

I'm a little behind, but getting caught up. So I'm tripling my efforts today (Kinsler, CJ and Vladdy). We go to NY all tied at a game apiece.

Rangers Illustrations: Day 8

They did it again. The Texas Rangers have moved on to the ALCS for the first time in franchise history, and how fitting that it's the Yankees that they'll be facing. Which also means 7 more days of illustrations. Hoorray!!!

Rangers Illustrations: Day 7

Game 5: Well, this could be the last illustration for the Rangers 2010 season. 1-0 early Rangers lead. I've really enjoyed this last week or so, and so has my wife and a few co-workers. With Cliff Lee on the mound and dealin', I feel like we can get this one. GO RANGERS!!!

Rangers Illustrations: Day 5/6

AARRRRGGHH!!! I blame mywifeself for this lose. They could have won that game. We're in Chicago this weekend for the wife and her dad to run the marathon (10-10-10, a binary nerds wet dream),and travel got the best of me. Anyhow, it's done, good karma is restored, and now the Rangers can finish these guys off...please!!!

Rangers Illustrations: Day 4

Nope Game 1 was not a fluke, and the Rangers proved it with another convincing win in Game 2. At least now no matter what happens the Rangers will get 5 games out of this series.

Rangers Illustrations: Day 3

1 down, 2 to go. Seven innings and 10 K's later, 5-1 game 1 winner...Cliff Lee. He was everything the Rangers and fans were hoping he would be.

MLB Playoff 2010. They did it!!!

In celebration of the Texas Rangers 1st playoff run since '99, I will be posting a new team member (manager, players, execs) each day until the Rangers run is over. At least this will last until next weekend. Hopefully longer. GO RANGERS!!!

First up, the living legend Nolan Ryan.
